DVOTD · The Conference Companion
SMS Program
The Conference Companion is a text-message service provided by DVOTD Inc. to attendees of participating events. DVOTD Inc. is the sender of every message. The event is the context for the messages, not a party sending them. This page describes how attendees join, what they receive, and how they leave.
How attendees opt in
- Keyword. The attendee texts the event's keyword (for example, JOIN) to the DVOTD Conference Companion number shown on event materials.
- QR code. The attendee scans the QR code displayed on event signage, slides, badges, or emails. It opens a pre-filled text message, or a short mobile form that asks for their mobile number and an unchecked box agreeing to receive messages.
- Sign-up form. The attendee enters their number on the event's registration or sign-up form and ticks an unchecked consent box.
Consent is never pre-selected and is not a condition of attendance. Every method shows the sender (DVOTD Inc., DVOTD Conference Companion), that message frequency varies, up to 8 msgs/day during the event, that message and data rates may apply, and how to reply STOP or HELP.
